Most expensive car in India: Bugatti drives in Veyron at Rs 16 cr

Indian millionaires have a new toy to play with – Bugatti’s Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport. And at Rs16 crore, this is one of the fastest and the most expensive sports car on Indian roads.

“Bugatti has been doing well in America, Europe and the Middle East. Now we see India as an emerging market, hence we have decided to bring the car to India,” Bugatti Automobiles sales market manager Guy Caquelin told  at the launch event in New Delhi on Thursday.

Also speaking at the launch, Satya Bagla, managing director of Delhi’s Exclusive Motors, which has brought the sports car to India, said, “We are pleased to launch Bugatti Veyron… the car is a statement of ultra luxury, speed and extraordinary style. We have introduced this car in the Indian market for the super premium luxury and sports car aficionados.”

The 16-cylinder, 4-wheel drive sports car boasts speeds of more than 400 km/h and features Formula 1-standard safety concepts to reduce the risk of accidents. So while it takes only 2.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100km/h, the Bugatti Veyron requires only 2.3 seconds to come to a stop from speeds of 100km/h.

Other features include the use of moisture-resistant, backstitched leather as well as the installation a reversing camera with 2.7-inch monitor integrated in the rear-view mirror and the “Puccini” sound system with digital signal processor.

Only 150 units of the hand-crafted Bugattis are on sale right now.
